One in four firms expect double-digit growth in 2019

A new report from Independent Growth Finance has found that 27% of business leaders are expecting revenues to grow by more than 10% this year. The IGF Powering Freedom Report also reveals that nine in ten business leaders have concerns about Brexit but they remain optimistic about 2019, with 69% of companies expecting an increase in revenues. To help achieve these growth aspirations 71% of firms are seeking new funding over the next year. Key areas of investment are said to be technology (37%), staff retention (30%) and marketing (27%). IGF’s research adds that alternative finance is on the rise. Traditional bank lending remains the top source (67%) but more than 27% of firms use invoice financing and 22% opt for asset based lending. John Onslow, CEO of Independent Growth Finance, comments: “With uncertainty on the horizon SMEs are refusing to stand still. Instead they are pushing for ambitious growth and alternative funding solutions.”
